Winter Fun... or Cabin Fever?

Dexter, hiding out under a blanket

Jaxon, hiding out in the curtains

Yes, as the temperature decreases (15 below the other day.... SO NOT a good day for playing outside) the wackiness inside increases....
A serious Jax
A silly Shea
Batman has been showing his face around here a lot more, lately. We love that he has returned. I was starting to think I would never see him again!
Of course, Shea is here to protect the galaxy. Love that she insists on wearing headbands around the back of her head. Too funny.
Shea and Dex in a tense duel.

Our living room (or should I say, playroom) seems to be filled to the brim with toys and costumes, these days. On non-school days, I find that by lunchtime the kids have found a way to incorporate nearly every play-object within reach into their running story lines. It is both highly entertaining and a bit exasperating. :) Luckily, it doesn't take long for everything to find it's way back into toy bins and boxes. What will I do when they outgrow their fantastic costume play and daily adventures? I guess I just have to trust that they'll continue to entertain in new and exciting ways. :)

Kentucky Part One

Christmas in Kentucky was as fun as ever. Luckily, I had my camera handy for more than one cute moment. A nearby petting zoo kept us all entertained. Above, a dancing Jaxon.
Dex, the llama whisperer.
Kiddos and camels.
Dexter and the donkeys, sharing a moment.

Jaxon, trying his best to win over a donkey.
Dex, getting a nice little llama love.

The face-off.

Daddy and Shea
Dex and Lainey discovered that a dead bird is just as interesting as the live animals around them.
Lucy, Shea and Lainey.
Lucy teaches Shea how to feed a reindeer. This was an absolute dream come true for Shea, who sang (or forced someone else to sing) Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer at least 350 times over the holidays.

Aunt Kim was gracious enough to share her musical instruments with all the kiddos and we were lucky enough to hear the boys' version of Star Wars: The Intergalactic Christmas Carol
Shea and Great Granny
The boys and Chris, enjoying Angry Birds. How lucky we were to be surrounded by so many loving family members happy and willing to indulge all the little people. It was true fun for all.
