March Misc

Dex's mantra for March was, "Mommy, if we don't have it, why don't we just make it?" I'm sure I will have plenty of photos to post soon... it's always interesting for me to see what the boys want to "make" each day. We've had some grand successes and a few flops. :) Below are the boys' kleenex box gunships. (Yes, apparently, I'm okay with straw blasters)

A silly trip to the zoo with Doron and Sylvie. The daddies took the girls around and I got to explore with the boys. What fun!

Mimi's Birthday: Part Two

Jonathan and Jaxon... in what became the silliest game ever.
Great Grandpa and Dexter, joining in the silliness.
This was some sort of let's-play-with-the boys'-legs-while-they-giggle-hysterically game. Pretty cute.

The balloons were a complete hit, as always!

Mimi's Birthday: Part One

Shea giving her Mimi oh-so-much love.
The kiddos love all the fantastic activities Mimi has for them to do when we visit. Decorating (and eating) cookies is at the top of the list!

Jaxon had a blast doing a dance video with Mimi.
Naptime? Or fun time?

February Fun: Part Two

Shea's version of a valentine project. There were a FEW hearts involved.
Dex, cutting out a few hearts.
Jax, working hard to cut out his hearts.
A nap for a princess
I love moments like this. I'll walk in on the kids in a totally adorable moment and just want to freeze time. On this afternoon, I found the three of them all having quiet storybook time together. It lasted a good thirty minutes and I just savored every minute of it. Love that Shea had to keep peeking at Dex's book... and that she couldn't even be bothered to take her bib off!
Jaxon, reading their first dictionary.

Love bug cupcakes

The boys completely astounded me by making all their valentines ALL BY THEMSELVES! Yay! 38 valentines and one very happy mommy later, we all celebrated by eating a cupcake... or two.
My little love bug.
Another amazing feat... the valentine mailboxes for school. Again, I was very pleased that the boys cut out all 8 hearts and tail completely by themselves. This coming from the boys who are more than happy to have mommy do just about everything for them. :) Baby-steps....baby-steps...

February Fun: Part One

Princess Shea and Daddy

Oh, dressing up is so much fun. Let me say it again... I LOVE the fact that my children find it necessary to wear costumes almost every single day. I know one day I'll realize that it's been weeks since the costumes have been touched, and I'll probably be a little sad about it. So, I'm enjoying it as long as it lasts. Oh, the wonderful world of make-believe...

The yearly... 'gather-up-the-crayon-bits-and-melt-them-into-jumbo-crayons' project.
Snowy days inside are made far-more interesting when paintbrushes are replaced with chalk. Who knew tempera and chalk could be so much fun?
D.R. undertook his week-long 'organize-the-legos' project with the boys. Naturally, it involved several very late nights for my dear husband. Now, if only the boys would adhere to his stringent lego-policies. (I can't say I blame them for wanting to mix and match sets... but, boy, does it bother D.R.!) :)
