Madison Part IV- More Kinds of Fun

The kids and I were SO lucky to get a day with Granddaddy! The boys just soaked up the attention he gave to them. I think the highlight was probably when he sat and "played" Battleship with them. Though he tried to teach them the real way to play, they were kind enough to tell him that the REAL way to play Battleship was to make pretty designs with the pegs. Granddady was glad to have been corrected after all these years of actually trying to sink the battleships. Silly rules.

It's been over three weeks since our visit, but even last night Jaxon asked if Granddaddy could take him fishing (I have no idea where he got that idea!) and Dexter asked this morning if we could hop in the car and drive to Mimi and Granddad's house. Those things make me smile.
Shea became quite a fan of the duplo legos... particularly dumping them OVER and OVER again.

Another favorite pasttime of Shea's... helping Mimi and Granddad clean up the kitchen. Her favorite was providing moral support while they loaded and unloaded the dishwasher. What a great helper.
See how I can eat AND play? :)

Another great lunch date involved going to see Granddad at his office. Mimi and the kids and I picked up sandwiches and had a little office picnic. The boys thought it was AWESOME and were particularly interested in doing "cheers" as frequently during the meal, as possible. Good thing Granddaddy is so great at indulging them!

Dex-left, Jax-right.

One more time, for good measure.

It wasn't until after I took photos of the boys playing in the lilac bushes (something Sarah and I also did as kids) that I realized they were standing on a few of my mom's tulip plants. Oops!

Looking for tigers...

Shea and I had a blast sitting in the grass watching the boys entertain us. Here she is, standing and holding my hand. Now, three weeks later, she's standing on her own and toddling a handful of steps. How does that happen?

That smile just cracks me up.

Naturally, there had to be at least one light saber duel. What am I going to do with Dex's hair?! :) That double cowlick is quite challenging!

More fancy moves...

Shea and I... hanging out, as usual.
