The end of cabin fever
March in Minnesota with three little ones can be long for any family. Cabin fever is in full-force and it can take quite a bit of creativity to keep mutiny at bay. Luckily, the boys are very creative and usually willing participants in anything NEW. Another plus is that if it involves a song or much movement, they're bound to take the bait. Forts became the daily standard and there were many hours of dancing and running around in a the living room. This week, the weather has been fantastic and the kiddos and I spent as much of Shea's non-nap hours outside as possible. Looking through these photos is not only a reminder of how these munchkins keep me moving, but of how happy I am that spring is finally here!!!

We are officially lego-crazy (in a good way)! This is a tower that Dex was especially fond of. He is the master of building what he calls "car jails." These are tall towers, with no doors or windows, in which are hidden as many little cars as possible. It's pretty cute. Last week, we took the boys to the lego store at the Mall of America and they completely flipped out. It was hillarious. There was much jumping around, giggling, and exclaiming, "Look at that! Look at this!".... We now read lego catalogues like story books and the boys will even cup their hands into little C's when they are playing around with each other and say they are Lego-Dexter or Lego-Jaxon. Hee hee.
Another fun diversion... worksheets! Jax-left and Batman- right... working together while they enjoy a little snack.
Yay! A letter from Santa! The boys are so sweet about playing mail man and delivering letters from Santa to Mommy and Shea. They love the fact that Shea gets almost as excited as they do! Of course, Santa usually lists all the things he's going to bring them for Christmas next year in his letters... NATURALLY!

Shea and Sylvie on a playdate. Shea thinks Sylvie is just fantastic, although, that means she's either trying to grab her face, her hair or just plain eat her.
We spent one afternoon taping the letters in the boys' names to the living room floor, around one of their little forts, and then jumping from letter to letter spelling their names. It started as an educational game and ended in a race to jump from letter to letter as fast as humanly possibly. If only I had been video taping. It was pretty great. Here's Dex, taping his beloved D to the floor.
